Hall of Fame

USATF Minnesota established the Minnesota Track & Field Hall of Fame in 1996 to recognize and honor outstanding performances and/or contributions by individuals to the sports of track & field, long distance running, cross country, and race walking in Minnesota.  Every other year, nominations are accepted by the three member Hall of Fame Committee, who then prepare a ballot and submit it to an established panel of voting members.  The Hall of Fame Banquet is held in October, honoring the year's inductees.

Nominations are possible in the following categories:

Elite Athlete
Veteran Athlete
Administrator/Coach

Nominees for Elite and/or Veteran Athlete should meet 2 of the following 3 criteria:

  1. Recorded important performance(s) while a resident of Minnesota.  To qualify as a Veteran, the performance must have been recorded 50 years prior to the current date.
  2. Minnesota high school or college graduate.
  3. Born in Minnesota, or a Minnesota resident a minimum of 10 years.

Criteria for Administrator or Coach:
